DPS Week 4 – 20/10/25 – 24/10/25

Monday 24th – Online meeting with Purr Purr Productions.

We are to help design a game that will be published by the end of the year on steam. It needs to be simple in design and can be in 2D or 3D.

Tuesday 25th – Online meeting with Isobel Stenhouse environment brief and Global Campus Studio.

Isobel Stenhouse

My idea for the “cavern of the metal cap” idea got shot down as the idea of a cave seems to be very complicated to design which I must begrudgingly agree with. We were recommended to design something man made such as a building or market places. My idea for “cavern of the metal cap” is now turning into “vault of the metal cap.”

GCS

During today’s GCS session we all decided on promoting an artist called Ella Langley who primarily makes country music. We decided to focus our marketing in Japan as apparently western country music and line dancing is a popular niche there. We plan to promote via social media such as TikTok and YouTube, however I also suggested LINE as that is the top social media platform there with 97 million users compared to TikTok’s 27 million.

Thursday 27th – Van Gogh immersive exhibition and Brick lane trip.

Van Gogh immersive exhibition

Today at the Van Gogh immersive exhibition I was exposed to a visual treat of some of Vincent Van Gogh’s artwork displayed in a unique way. Examples such as his many vase paintings displayed via projection on a blank sculpture of one with the pictures changing every few seconds.

Another one I was enjoyed was the massive projection room that moving versions of his paintings being projected on the walls, making us feel like we were there, even though some of the projections weren’t seamlessly looped together can the cut off points could be seen. The VR experience was what I found to be the highlight as it fully brought me into the world of Van Gogh. I was amazed by how his works were able to essentially be either recreated or adapted into a stylised 3D environment. My personal favourite parts were the olive trees and starry night.

Brick lane

Later we visited Brick lane Brick shop. There we met street artist Ronzo and showed his “brick mascot.” It was there where we discussed ideas on our game for Purr Purr Productions. How it could feature the brick mascot or be set in Brick lane.
